quick fix for FB posts posting to "Only Me"

BIG FAT AMEN ON THAT BILL. There must be some complete dolts out there if they couldn't figure out the last privacy settings. Nice screw up FaceBook.

Sorry y'all... it does fail after a few refreshes. When it worked after one, I thought I figured it out.

I'll slink away in embarrassment now...

It's not working.

This is Facebook's response to criticisms of lack of privacy--they've changed the default to "Only Me" and there's no way to make the default anything else. You can put "facebook publisher control" into GoogleNews and read an interesting CNET article about it.

In a few days someone else on the Internet may come up with a fix, but until then it's going to be belt-tightening time on the Wall. I came back to my Wall this evening to find it basically empty, because nobody saw the informational banner in-game, and so they all assumed their default was still "Friends". So all those Mystery Eggs and Wandering Stallions and Fuel...all went to waste.

This is really stupid.

I read this here a bit back and has helped me allot. Go to your Friends tab in Facebook. Select create a list. You will have to name your list and all your friends pics will pop up. Click on the people you want on your list. The next time you see the little lock select "specific people" then type in the name of your list. The post will be seen by the whole list. My list is called "farmfriends" Every time I post farm stuff I send it to only people who play farmville. This helps from spamming family and friends, they also don't have to see how addicted I am to farming/ lol hope this helps

Yes, that's great for posting game stuff, but when you post links on your status, status updates, or whatever, you have to manually change the privacy lock from "only me" to friends only.

Facebook needs to change their name to FailBook.

Before publishing any post, click the lock to the left of *Publish* and select 'Friends' or 'Friends of Friends'. Otherwise no one else will see your post.

I have tried and tried and tried and it just keeps reverting back to only me - I cannot believe this - how incredibly frustrating - why can't facebook just leave well enough alone, post ads on the side and let us choose to click if we want to! I've about had it!
