Do foals ever grow up?

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 2:45 pm

I guess this is a stupid question, but....

Do foals grow up after harvesting them for so long or is it just possible if you use Farm Cash? Or...must they go in a nursery and then eventually they grow up?

thanks for any info

some of mine go into the nursery others don't and it seems that they can only grow up if you use farm cash to grow them which is a tad insulting as we spent farmcash to buy a lot of them originally

How is it insulting? We buy a horse for FC we get a horse, the foal is just a freebie given away and/or kept. It would cost FC to buy more in the market so it costs FC to grow one up too.

the fact we spend FC in the first place then it cost's even more to grow them when a lot of other foals/calf's can be placed in the nursery and grow up anyway

No they cant grow up in the nursery to the same advlts that is the whole point. There are only a couple that grow to the same advlt for now anyways it will probably end up changed too.

The foals grow into black horses, pony foals into blue ponies etc not into the fc advlt, to get those you either buy them while in the market or pay to grow them up.

I am fully aware of that. I still find it a tad insulting that we have to pay FC to grow foals into the Horses we already bought in the first place.

Well, I do think the least they could do is to charge the price of the advlt we did buy. Perhaps that is too hard for the programmers, I don't know.

I am raising Friesians in my Paddock. My stallion cost 35 FC and he was more expensive than most. The foals I am getting however cost 45 to mature. That is a bit insulting to me. And the fact that a foal placed in a nursery that does not even grow into the same type of horse is even more frustrating. Obviously, I wanted that type, not a black foal that becomes a blue or whatever.

I am not trying to cause a fuss, just wanted to know the logistics of raising my horses.

Thanks for the input.

Older foals can be placed in the nursery or can be grown by using FC. To figure out what your foal/calf will grow into using the nursery, place the foal or calf in the nursery, look inside, and hover you cursor over the baby. There should be a popup showing you what the advlt version will be. If you use FC the foal/calf will grow into the advlt counterpart. For example, the Autumn foal will grow into an Autumn horse. Newer foals and calves (ones released after the paddock) will not go into the nursery and can only be grown using FC.
If you wish to debate the pricing of calves and foals, please use Discussions or Feedback forums. This forum is strictly for users to ask and answer game related questions.

Since the OP's question has been answered and this thread has gone way off topic, I'm closing the thread now.
Happy farming!
